Poultry Immunity Study
Mark Cook, Ph.D. was research study director. AZOMITE® trace minerals were added at 0.5% to the feed of sixteen test chickens and sand was added to the feed of sixteen control chickens. The chickens were all injected with sheep red blood cells to challenge the chickens, and six days later at 22 days of age blood was drawn and the antibody titer and immunoglobulin levels were measured.
Study Conclusion
Researcher reported AZOMITE® added resulted a 136% improvement in antibody titer, and a 123% improvement in immunoglobulin levels as compared to control. Note the immune response doubled with AZOMITE® added to the feed.
